Hi

I get occassional tender area behind one ear. Now I have noticed that its quite sore and a bit swollen. I looked up the dreaded internet and it says one of the causes can be RA or a few other not so nice things, its a general sign of infection. Usually I have a temperature each night but last night and day before I hadnt and felt tired and on waking feels like I have a cold but disappears after 20 mins.

Has anyone experienced anything simlar. Obviously wil mention this at next consultaton in June. Also sorry have had pc problmes so not on the forum so much these days, but checking in occassionally and trying to keep up with everyones news.

Thank you

Cool

Haven't any experience of swollen glands myself but I'd definitely have it looked at.

Hope it gets better soon,

Joanna

Hi
Back some years ago ( I expect some of the older members of this forum will remember ) I had a swollen lymh node under my armpit. I saw a consultant who did a biopsy. That wasn't conclusive so I went into the BRI in Bristol as a day patient and had the lump removed. I was terribly worried about it and couldn't sleep properly waiting for the results to come back in. The results came back in and they said it was nothing sinisiter which was a huge relief and said it was possibly due to my RA but could'nt be sure.
I'm sure it is to do with your RA, so try not to worry but really you should see your GP.
Try not to do too much research on the dreaded internet, it can frighten the life out of you!!

Hi

Glands can become inflamed as part of any immune disease, and is frequently a symptom that goes unnoticed. Definitely worth getting checked out by your GP who will be able to put your mind at rest. He probably won't even need to do a blood test but will be guided by the presence, or lack of, other symptoms. I wouldn't leave it until June in case treatment is actually needed.
Good luck, although I'm sure all will be well!

I agree with everyone else, Mari, and do think you should get this checked out in case you have an infection. Hope it is subsiding now.
Lots of love
